Hello Everyone!
Here at All Things Wild, we are excited to announce the first annual International Land Snail Day! This is proud day here for us, as we are passionate about these organisms. We are, in fact, in partnership with this endeavor with no one; this is solely our own cause. I know, right? You're thinking "Way to go All Things Wild! They rock!" This day is a culmination of years' worth of blood, sweat and tears in conservation and appreciation of these amazing creatures. While their contribution to ecosystem function is poorly understood outside the circles of snail nerds such as myself, I can assure you they are worth more than weight in kitschy snail lawn ornaments. There are plenty of catch-phrases; snail mail, a snails' pace, etc., that play to the incorrect stereotype of snails as slow and slimy. Plenty of research has shown that relative to their body size they are quite average speed. So on this glorious day, let's all look to spread the idea of global snail equality and understanding!
Today is hereby declared escargot-free. In support of this movement, we ask you to participate yourself and encourage your friends to do the same!
